SSC on 30 June 2025 released the much-awaited 'SSC JE 2025 Notification' on its official website. The application submission will start from 30 June 2025 to 21 July 2025. The tentative no of vacancies is 1340. The SSC will hold an open competitive exam for recruitment of Junior Engineers (JEs) in for Posts of JE (Civil), JE(Mechanical), and JE(Electrical) for the Govt of India organisations/Offices.

The Posts are Group 'B' (Non-Gazetted), Non-Ministerial with Level-6 (Rs. 35400-112400) Pay Matrix of the 7th Central Pay Commission

Junior Engineer Civil, JE(C)

  • Qualification:
    • Degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering with two years of experience in civil engineering works 
  • Organisations:
    • Border Road Organisations (BRO) (Only Male Candidates)
    • Brahmaputra Board, Ministry of Jal Shakti
    • Central Water Commission (CWC)
    • Central Public Works Department (CPWD)
    • Central Water and Power Research Station
    • Farakka Barrage Project, Ministry of Jal Shakti
    • Military Engineer Service (MES)
    • National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO)

Junior Engineer Mechanical, JE(M)

  • Qualification:
    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with two years of experience in mechanical engineering work.
  • Organisations:
    • Border Road Organisations (BRO) (Only Male Candidates)
    • Central Water Commission (CWC)
    • DGQA-NAVAL, Ministery of Defence
    • Military Engineer Service (MES)

Junior Engineer Electrical, JE(E)

  • Qualification:
    • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Electrical  Engineering with two years of experience in electrical engineering work.
  • Organisations:
    • Border Road Organisations (BRO) (Only Male Candidates)
    • Central Water and Power Research Station
    • DGQA-NAVAL, Ministery of Defence
    • Farakka Barrage Project, Ministry of Jal Shakti

SSC JE 2025 Notification: Age Limit and Relaxation

In the SSC JE 2025 Notification, the SSC fixed the crucial date for age reckoning as 01 Jan 2026 (01.01.2026). The permissible upper age relaxation is as per provisions of DoPT (Department of Personnel and Training)

  • Age Limit (30-32 years)

    • For Posts with an Age Limit of 30 years:
      • Candidates must born not earlier than 02 Jan 1996 (02.01.1996) and not later than 01 Jan 2008 (01.01.2008) 
    • For Posts with an Age Limit of 32 years:
      • Candidates must born not earlier than 02 Jan 1994 (02.01.1994) and not later than 01 Jan 2008 (01.01.2008)

SSC JE 2025 Notification: How to Apply

To apply for the SSC JE 2025 Application Form, candidates must register through One Time Registration (OTR) at the official website of SSC, i.e., ssc.gov.in 

  • Visit the official Website ssc.gov.in, and click on "Register Now"
  • Register your phone number and email.
  • Fill in all the required details.
  • Upload Photo and Signature.
  • Complete the registration.
    • After registration,  Log in with your Email & password
    • Click on "Apply Link" for SSC JE. 
    • Fill in the required details.
    • Select a choice of centers as per your convenience.
    • Review the application and submit it.

SSC JE 2025 Notification: Scheme of Examination

The Selection criteria for SSC JE 2025 are based on Computer Based Examination I & II, followed by document verification.

  • Paper I
    • Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions Only 
    • Number of questions: 200
    • Total marks: 200
    • One-fourth (0.25) Penalty for wrong answer
    • Duration: 2 hours ( 2 hrs 40 min for PwD)
  • Paper II
    • Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions Only 
    • Number of questions: 100
    • Total marks: 300
    • One (01) Penalty for wrong answer
    • Duration: 2 hours ( 2 hrs 40 min for PwD)
